Hello Families!

Wednesday 4/3 is a half day of school, 11:30 dismissal. EDP available.

Next week, we will be working on the second week of our OWL Unit 5 Shadows & Reflections. Our centers are posted below.

Looking at floating object's reflections (SAND & WATER): Observes and explores materials, objects, or events in the environment. Uses language to discuss, record, or describe observations.

Cloud paintings (ART EASEL): Explores and experiments with wet media to create two-dimensional artwork. Explores and experiments with basic shapes and lines in artwork. Creates artwork in relation to the book, The Puddle Pail.

Exploring glittery finger paint (ART): Creates original artwork to express thoughts, feelings, and energy. Explores and experiments with how color can convey mood and emotion. Builds finger dexterity.

Reflective blocks (BLOCKS): Explores reflective surfaces and their properties. Interacts with others appropriately by cooperating, helping, and sharing. Explores spatial relationships.

Hello families!

Next week, we will be beginning OWL Unit 5: Shadows & Reflections. Please see below for centers.

Looking for Reflections in Bubbles (WATER): Observes and explores materials in the environment. Investigates and describes states of matter. Performs tasks that require fine-motor control.

Reflective Paper Collages (ART/SCIENCE): Creates two-dimensional artwork. Builds finger dexterity and uses thumb/forefinger in pincer grasp. Explores and experiments with dry media to create art work. 

Playing with Blocks & Mirrors (BLOCKS): Interacts with others appropriately by cooperating, helping, sharing. Uses language to develop and maintain relationships in play. Explores spatial relationships.

Digging for Hidden Treasure (WATER TABLE): Uses a variety of tools and materials to strengthen hand grasp, flexibility, and coordination. Makes comparisons among objects. Sorts objects into subgroups that vary by one or two attributes, or by category.

Reminder: Tomorrow, 3/22 is a Tag Day. Wear green for Colin's Joy Project!

Happy St. Paddy's Day! Below you will find our centers for next week, along with some important information. Have a great weekend!

Creating "I-Spy" Sculptures (ART): Creates three-dimensional artwork. Approaches tasks with inventiveness.

Post Office (DRAMATIC PLAY): Becomes aware of the roles, responsibilities, and services provided by community workers. Uses language while participating in dramatic play.

Letter & Postcard Supplies (WRITING): Writes for many purposes. Uses writing in the context of dramatic play. Composes or dictates messages.

Exploring Sand (Sensory/Science): Observes and explores materials and objects. Asks questions, uses a variety or tool and materials to strengthen hand grasp, flexibility, and coordination. Describes physical properties of materials.

Hello families!

Next week, we will be working on Week 3 of OWL Unit 4 The World of Color. Please see below for centers and stories.

Digging for Hidden Treasure (WATER TABLE): Uses a variety of tools and materials to strengthen hand grasp, flexibility, and coordination. Makes comparisons among objects. Sorts objects into subgroups that vary by one or two attributes, or by category.

Pattern Blocks & Design Cards (MATH): Performs fine motor tasks that require small muscle strength and control. Uses eye hand coordination to perform fine motor tasks. Builds finger dexterity and uses thumb/forefinger in pincer grasp.

Scooping Ice Cream (DRAMATIC PLAY): Participates in dramatic play. Locates objects in a familiar environment. Uses language while participating in dramatic play.

Still Life Paintings (ART): Creates two-dimensional artwork. Explores and experiments with wet media to create artwork. Asks and answers questions and gives directions.
