Hello families! We will be using next week to work on a few special projects and get caught up on work for our end of year portfolios. Please see below for important dates and information. Wednesday, May 2 - Art Show 2:30-4. Children and their families are invited to attend the art show in the cafeteria after school dismissal. Thursday, May 3- Grandparents Day. Grandparents and special friends can visit our classroom after mass from 10-11. We will have different activities for children and Grandparents/special friends to enjoy! **For safety reasons, children will not be able to leave our classroom with grandparents/special friends. If your child will be leaving school early with a grandparent/special friend, please let me know before hand via email. Thank you! Friday, May 4- Early Dismissal 11:30. Hello families! We hope you have a great April school vacation week! We will start back on Monday 4/23 with new centers from our Shadows and Reflections unit.. Play with pond and swamp animals (SAND & WATER): Engages in socio-dramatic play. Observes and identifies the characteristics and basic requirements of animals. Shadow puppet theater and stick puppets (BOOKS): Retells a story by enacting roles with puppets. Uses and shares books and other print in play. Magnatiles and flashlights (SCIENCE): Look for shadows and colors with flashlights and magnatiles Flower Paintings (ART): Children will use real flowers to create colorful Spring painitings OWL Stories: The Puddle Pail by Elisa Klevin Kitten for a Day by Ezra Jack Keats Dreams by Ezra Jack Keats Monday: Gym Tuesday: Religion Wednesday Personal Safety Curriculum Thursday: Library/Spanish Friday: Music *Our school day begins right away, we promptly begin morning meeting as a way to start our day off on the right foot. Hello families! Our center for this week are: Finding treasures; making collections (SAND AND WATER): Uses a variety of tools and materials to strength hand grasp, flexibility and coordination. Makes comparisons among objects. Sorts objects into sub-groups that vary by one or two attributes. Stars in the night sky paintings (ART): creates two dimensional artwork, participates in activities to explore the earth and sky. City buildings and shadows (BLOCKS): observes and describes the effects on sunlight and shadows. Creates simple representations of communities. Metallic pens for writing (WRITING): writes and draws using a variety of drawing tools and on a variety of surfaces.
