Hello! We had a very eventful week in PREK! Picture day was a success, all of the children did great. The Early Childhood Welcome Carnival turned out to be great fun for everyone! Don’t forget about our Lynch Early Childhood Project Information Night, Wednesday October 19th at 6:00! *We will be having our Halloween party on Thursday, 10/27 during snack time, followed by our Early Childhood Halloween Parade in the school yard. (More information to follow). If you haven't sent in 2 pictures of your child and their family, please do so. Next week, we will be working on our last week (Week 4) of OWL Unit 1: Families. Our centers for next week will be: Playing with water wheels (SCIENCE)- Asks questions about materials. Explores simple machines. Engages in conversations and uses language to play with others. Thinks about events and experiences. Building block towers (BLOCKS)- Moves body with balance and control. Builds finger dexterity. Describes the physical properties of objects. Asks questions about materials. Uses language to describe observations. Drawing with chalk (ART)- Creates original artwork to express thoughts and feelings. Explores and experiments with chalk. Shares opinions and ideas about personal creative work. Engages in a variety of fine motor tasks. Frankenstein Faces (MATH)- Create original artwork with various shapes. Identifies basic shapes. Follows multi-step directions. Small group: Draw and label picture of family- Creates artwork to express thoughts and feelings. Shares ideas about personal creative work.
