Hello families! Next week, we will be officially starting our literacy program, Opening the World of Learning (OWL). Our first unit is about family. If you have not sent in a family picture, please do so as we will be using them for a class project. Our stories and centers for next week are posted below. EXPLORING WATER’S MOVEMENT (Water): Uses simple tools in exploring water. Develops fine motor skills. MAKING PAPER SHAPE COLLAGES (Math): Creates artwork to express thoughts, feelings, and energy. Uses a variety of tools and materials. Uses basic shapes and sizes to create artwork. Explores and experiments with concepts of pattern and symmetry. APPLE STAMPING (Art): Develops understanding of 3-D objects and their surfaces. Explores and experiments with a process. Chooses artwork for display in the classroom. BUILDING WITH BLOCKS (Blocks): Develops representational skills using 3-D objects. Interacts appropriately with others by cooperating, helping, sharing, and expressing interest. Uses language to develop and maintain relationships in play. Explores spatial relationships. Explores concepts of balance. Small Group: Self Portraits OWL Stories: Oonga Boonga by Frieda Wishinsky Peter’s Chair by Ezra Jack Keats Monday- Gym Tuesday- Religion I Am Special Series “See My Smile” Thursday- Spanish with Mrs. Mora/Library with Ms. Teresa (rotates weekly) REMINDER: Friday, October 6th is a school wide half-day, 11:30 dismissal.
