Hello families! We had a busy week in K0! The children seem to enjoy their OWL centers this past week! We will be moving on to our second week of OWL-Unit 1: Families. Please see below for some important notes. *Don't forget to send in a family photo! *The Early Childhood Welcome carnival is on Thursday, October 18th from 3:30-5:00. Please return sign up form and payment in your child's backpack. Entry will be through the E. Broadway gate to the school yard, check in and get a stamp there! It is sure to be a fun family event! *School Picture Day is on Thursday, 10/11. Children wear their uniforms for picture day. Our centers for next week will be: Painting with primary colors (ART): Creates artwork to express ideas. Explores and experiments with paint and art easel. Uses and cares for art materials. Playing with family figures (BLOCKS): Engages in conversation and uses language to enter into play. Begins to understand family needs, roles and relationships. Uses classroom materials purposefully and respectfully. Builds awareness of directionality and position in space. Painting furniture (DRAMATIC PLAY): Uses language while participating in dramatic play. Initiates interactions with other children. Engages in socio-emotional play. Uses play to explore social roles and emotional states. Pumpkin art (FINE MOTOR): Creates artwork to display in the classroom. Uses fine motor skills to create and decorate festive fall pumpkins.
