Hello families! Next week is February school vacation! Here are our centers for the week after vacation: Creating "I-Spy" Sculptures (ART): Creates three dimensional artwork. Approaches tasks with inventiveness. Connections To Post Office (DRAMATIC PLAY): Becomes aware of the role, responsibilities and services provided by community workers. Uses language while participating in dramatic play. Letter and Post Cards (WRITING): Writes for many purposes. Uses writing in the context of dramatic play. Composes and dictates or writes messages. Colored Rice Sensory Table (SENSORY): Observes and explores materials, objects and colors. Important Reminders! *School Resumes Monday, February 27th! *Children will attend mass on Ash Wednesday (3/1) at 9 am *Half day of school Friday, 3/3! Hello families! This week, we will be working on OWL Unit 4 Week 3. Our centers are posted below. We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day in school on Tuesday, February 14th. Students are encouraged to bring valentines for their classmates (please only sign your child’s name, leaving the ‘to’ blank). Students do not need a snack, just a lunch. Mixing Paint and Saving New Colors (ART): Creates two-dimensional artwork. Explores and experiments with wet media to create artwork. Contributes to the classroom community. Still-Life Paintings (ART): Creates two-dimensional artwork. Asks and answers questions and gives directions. Sand (SENSORY/FINE MOTOR): Uses materials to strengthen hand grasp, flexibility, and coordination. Uses classroom materials purposefully and respectfully. Objects in the Water Table (WATER): Explores water’s movement. Explores buoyancy, floating, and sinking. Uses materials purposefully. Small group: Valentine’s Day Writing – Experiments with letter forms. Writes or pretends to write. Creates artwork to express thoughts and feelings. Talks about understanding of relationships among people and animals. Ms. Molly and Ms. Kristen Hello Families! Happy February! We will be taking next week off from our OWL curriculum to have some Valentine's Day fun. We will be working on Valentine's Day cards, creating Valentine envelopes and having some much need free choice time, as we are ahead of our curriculum schedule! Remember there is no school Friday, 2/10 (Teacher PD)! Some important reminders: Friday 2/10- No School! Tuesday 2/14-Valentine's Day celebration, party at snack time (children do not need snack, only lunch). On Tuesday (2/14) please send in 17 valentines with your child's name on it (you do not need to address each valentine, just make sure it is signed with your child's name).
