We had so much fun celebrating Halloween on Thursday! Below are some reminders and our centers for next week (10/31). Reminders: Children should come to school in their uniform on Monday, 10/31. Extended day closes at 4:00 for Halloween! Friday, November 4th is a half-day of school. School wide dismissal is at Noon. Children will need a snack and drink only (unless your child is signed up for extended day). Veteran’s Day – Friday, November 11th NO SCHOOL Picture Retake Day - Tuesday, November 22nd Thanksgiving Break – Wednesday, November 23rd is a half-day of school. School wide dismissal is at Noon. No extended day. Parent Conferences - December 1st & 2nd (More information coming soon) Our centers for next week are: Washing Dishes (SAND AND WATER)- Observes and explores materials and objects in the environment. Practices strategies for promoting cleanliness. Pizza Paintings (ART): Creates two-dimensional artwork. Explores and experiments with basic shapes and lines in artwork. Builds finger dexterity and uses thumb/forefinger in pincer grasp. Exploring pizza dough (SCIENCE): Uses language to describe observations. Describes the physical properties of objects. Family figures, dollhouse furniture, families in a neighborhood (BLOCKS): Engages in socio-dramatic play. Identifies common features in the home. Begins to understand various family structures. Approaches tasks with inventiveness. Hello Families! Thank you to those who came out for the Lynch Early Childhood Information Night! We had another great week in preschool! We wrapped up our first unit of OWL: Families. Next week we will be taking the week off from OWL to celebrate Halloween. We will be busy with Halloween crafts, playing games, carving our class pumpkin and enjoying our Halloween party and parade! Some reminders: Preschool will be celebrating Halloween on Thursday, October 27th. Please send your child to school wearing their costume on Thursday. Your child will not need their uniform or a change of clothes. Children will wear their costume all day. Please do not send in accessories (wands, shoes, weapons, etc.). There is no need to pack a snack on Thursday, since we will be having our party. Children will need a lunch and a drink only. Our Halloween parade will take place on Thursday (10/27) in the school yard. Family and friends are welcome to watch our parade. Friday, November 4th is a half-day of school. The Early Childhood Welcome Carnival turned out to be great fun for everyone! Don’t forget about our Lynch Early Childhood Project Information Night, Wednesday October 19th at 6:00! *We will be having our Halloween party on Thursday, 10/27 during snack time, followed by our Early Childhood Halloween Parade in the school yard. (More information to follow). If you haven't sent in 2 pictures of your child and their family, please do so. Next week, we will be working on our last week (Week 4) of OWL Unit 1: Families.
