Hello Families! Thank you for coming in and meeting with us for parent conferences! Please see below for next week's centers and some important December dates. Next week, we will be working on Christmas themed centers and activities: Melted Snowman Puff Paint Christmas Sensory Table Magnatiles & Jingle Bells Bow Paintings Process Art Important Dates: Thursday, 12/13 - Christmas Show, the children will be participating in both shows at 10 am and 6 pm. Families are welcome to come to both shows in the school gym. We are singing 'Ring The Bells' and 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town'. Children should wear festive red clothing/santa hats for both shows. Please send your child to school dressed for the show, they will wear their festive red clothing/santa hats all day. Children should return to school no earlier than 5:30 for the 6:00 show. Your child will enter through the O st. (extended day door) and head to their classroom. Doors will not open until 5:30. Please be prompt, as we are one of the first classes to go on and will need to line up shortly after 5:30. Extended day ends at 4:30 the day of the concert. Wednesday, 12/19- Class Christmas Party at snack Thursday, 12/20- Christmas Movie & Pajama Day (more info to follow) Friday, 12/21- Early dismissal 11:30, NO EXTENDED DAY. School resumes on 1/3/19

Hello families! Next week, we will be working on week 4 of OWL Unit Friends. Please see below for next week's centers and a few important dates/reminders. December is a busy month! Shopping at the Grocery Store continued (DRAMATIC PLAY): Locates objects in a familiar environment. Creates simple representations of home, school. or community. Takes turns. Engages in conversations with peers. Watercolor Paintings (ART): Creates two-dimensional artwork. Explores and experiments with wet and dry media to create artwork. Observes and explores materials, objects, or events in the environment. Decorating our Pinata: Creates three-dimensional artwork. Participates successfully as a member of a group. Demonstrates an emerging awareness and respect for culture and ethnicity. Creating Christmas Wreaths (ART): Explores wet and dry media to create artwork. Important Dates & Reminders: -Wednesday, 12/5: Parent/Teacher Conferences. There is no school on this day (EDP available). Please be sure to sign up for a conference time by 12/3! -Thursday, 12/13: Christmas Show. Students perform in both 10am & 6pm shows. We are singing Ring the Bells and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. We had a fun week celebrating Halloween! Next week we will get back to our OWL curriculum by starting unit 2 "Friends". Below you will find some important information for next week (see attached Catholic Schools Week schedule) and centers for next week. Wednesday, November 7th is a school wide early release day @ 11:30. *THERE IS NO EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM* (due to entire staff training) Our centers for next week are: Washing Dishes (SAND AND WATER)- Observes and explores materials and objects in the environment. Practices strategies for promoting cleanliness. Pizza Paintings (ART): Creates two-dimensional artwork. Explores and experiments with basic shapes and lines in artwork. Builds finger dexterity and uses thumb/forefinger in pincer grasp. Exploring pizza dough (SCIENCE): Uses language to describe observations. Describes the physical properties of objects. Family figures, dollhouse furniture, families in a neighborhood (BLOCKS): Engages in socio-dramatic play. Identifies common features in the home. Begins to understand various family structures. We will be celebrating Halloween on Wednesday, October 31. We will be playing games, having some treats at snack, and participating in the school parade. The parade will be held at 1:30pm on Wednesday. Students will parade along Broadway (O Street to N Street) with the whole school for all to see! Parents are invited to line the route. Please send your child to school wearing their costume on Wednesday. Your child will not need their uniform or a change of clothes. Children will wear their costume all day. Please do not send in accessories (wands, shoes, weapons, etc.) Our party will take place during snack time, children do not need a snack on Wednesday, only a lunch .A big thank you to our room reps and families who are helping to coordinate for the party.
