Hello families! Next week, we will be officially starting our OWL (Opening the World of Learning) Curriculum, Our first unit focuses on family. For the next four weeks, we will be reading stories, having group discussions, and implementing centers around our families. Please send in one family photo to be added to our classroom family wall. Next week is very busy! Please see below for important reminders and next week's centers. OWL Centers: Exploring Water's Movement (WATER): Uses simple tools in exploring water. Develops fine motor skills. Making Paper Collages (ART): Creates artwork to express thoughts, feelings, and energy. Uses a variety of tools and materials. Uses basic shapes and forms of different sizes to create artwork. Explores and experiments with concepts or pattern and symmetry. Printing with Apples (ART/SCIENCE): Develops understanding of 3-D objects and their surfaces. Explores and experiments with a process. Creates artwork for display in the classroom. Building with Blocks (BLOCKS): Develops representational skills using 3-D objects. Interacts appropriately with others by cooperating, helping, sharing, and expressing interest. Uses language to develop and maintain relationships in play. Explores spatial relationships and concepts of balance. Important Reminders! -Monday 10/1 : Tag Day (out of uniform day). Please send in a small donation to benefit the NPH USA ("Our Little Brothers & Sisters"). -Wednesday 10/3 : Early Release - All students will be released at 11:30. Students only need a snack and drink unless signed up for Extended Day. -Thursday 10/4 : School Mass at St. Brigid Church.
