Hello families! Next week we will begin OWL Unit 5 – Shadows & Reflections. Our centers are posted below. Looking for reflections in bubbles (WATER): Observes and explores materials in the environment. Investigates and describes states of matter. Performs tasks that require fine-muscle control. Reflective paper collages (ART): Creates two-dimensional artwork. Builds finger dexterity and uses thumb/forefinger in pincer grasp. Explores and experiments with dry media to create artwork. Painting with Marbles (ART): Explores and experiments with paint. Describes the physical properties of objects. Coordinates body movements to complete simple tasks. Digging for hidden treasure (SENSORY): Uses a variety of tools and materials to strengthen hand grasp, flexibility, and coordination. Makes comparisons among objects. Sorts objects into subgroups that vary by one or two attributes, or by category. Small Groups: Blank Books (WRITING) & Number Race Game (MATH) OWL Stories: Play With Me by Marie Hall Ets Raccoon on His Own by Jim Arnosky Reminder – Grade 6 is collecting toiletries to benefit those in need in South Boston Neighborhoods.
